Our Philosophy
EconoData is an independent platform for studying and analyzing the political economy of countries, understanding the economic and political roots of conflicts, and examining the effects of war and violence on human societies. We believe that wars, conflicts, and political crises cannot be reduced merely to military decisions, diplomatic disagreements, or political rivalries. Behind many of these events lie a range of economic factors, power structures, trade relations, interdependencies, competition over resources, and domestic and international relations. Understanding these factors can help us gain deeper insight into why conflicts emerge, persist, and produce their consequences.
What is our mission?
To produce and publish data-driven knowledge about the political economy of selected countries and their conflicts by collecting reliable data, conducting statistical analysis, and undertaking comparative study, with the aim of helping Persian-speaking audiences understand global developments and their effects on life in Iran.

EconoData operates financially on the basis of a gift economy.
The gift economy also reflects our approach to producing and sharing knowledge. We see knowledge and information as a resource for increasing public awareness, and want access to analytical content to be shaped as much as possible by participation, collaboration, and voluntary support—not solely by audiences’ ability to pay.
